meet the girl behind the rambles!
Yay! Hi!
I'm Alicia, the daydreaming, doodling, and always-over-rambling human behind Rainbows & Rambles!
I'm a lover of all things whimsical, a collector of little moments, someone who cries whether she's happy or sad, and someone who will absolutely stop whatever she's doing just to stare at the sky and feel something.
I also have ADHD, which means my mind can sometimes feel like a never-ending whirlwind of thoughts, ideas, feelings, and everything in between. For a long time, I've struggled with overwhelming thoughts, situations, and the feeling that life was moving a little faster than I could keep up with.
But recently, I've been learning something pretty wonderful: I want to start living my life for me.
Not for expectations, not for what I think I should be doing, not to gain validation or reand certainly not for the pressure to have everything figured out. Instead, I've made it my own little mission to discover the things that make me feel ridiculously, overwhelmingly, unapologetically joyful. Big things, small things, and all the wonderfully ordinary things in between.
I like to call those moments my "rainbows.”
Sometimes my rainbows are big, exciting adventures. Other times, they're a beautiful sunset, a favorite song playing at just the right moment, a flower growing somewhere unexpected, or a silly little interaction that makes me smile for the rest of the day.
And somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to share those rainbows with others.
That's how Rainbows & Rambles came to life!
I wanted to create something that feels like opening a letter from an old friend. Something nostalgic, whimsical, a little silly, and full of heart. A monthly reminder that there's still so much beauty to be found in the everyday.
But here's the thing: Rainbows & Rambles isn't about pretending every day is sunshine and rainbows. Trust me, I know life can be messy, overwhelming, and downright gloomy. Finding your rainbows doesn't mean ignoring the hard stuff. It means giving yourself permission to notice the little bits of goodness along the way, even when things aren't perfect.
Every illustration, heartfelt ramble, and tiny surprise I create is a little piece of that journey. And my hope is that somewhere between the doodles and the happy mail, you'll feel inspired to discover a few rainbows of your own.
So whether you're here for the artwork, the rambles, or simply a little sunshine in your mailbox, I'm so happy our paths crossed.
Here's to living a little more for ourselves, embracing the wonderfully messy parts of being human, and finding rainbows in the everyday.
With sunshine & a whole lot of rambles,
Alicia
